Information for the local community

Eastern Electrics Festival has been running for 9 years at various venues, and at Morden Park has since 2017. This year we have been granted a Premises Licence to enable the festival to return on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August 2019 for its third year at Morden Park.

The festival will be open from 11:00 -23:00 on Saturday 3rd and 11:00 -22:00 on Sunday 4th with a range of music from various artists across a number of stages throughout the site.

The organisers are keen to make sure that the event takes place with minimal disruption to park users, local residents and local businesses alike. This page is dedicated to the local community and updated regularly with relevant information as and when confirmed. Please check this page if you would like to find out more about the event.

NOISE MANAGEMENT

Eastern Electrics are dedicated to ensuring compliance with the noise regulations that are set within our licence. To monitor noise levels on and offsite we employ a team of expert noise consultants to be on site for the duration of both live event days (Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th August) to monitor Db levels.

During the build period the event site is a working construction site and will have plant and machinery operating. We will endeavour to keep any disturbance from construction work and vehicle movements to an absolute minimum.

ROAD CLOSURES

The access road to the park will be closed to enable the safe ingress and egress of pedestrians from the site (with access maintained until 21:00 on both days of the event).

A lane closure will be in place on London Road (A24) for the egress of pedestrians from 20:00 – 23:59 on both event days.

WASTE CLEARANCE & TOILETS

We have a produced a detailed Waste Management Plan and have appointed a dedicated external cleansing team who are responsible for litter clearance in the areas surrounding the park, including residential streets and pavements.

A separate internal cleansing team is in place to keep the festival site clean during the festival and after the event. Merton Council will also tailor their own waste management resources appropriately on Saturday and Sunday for the event.

In addition to the toilets located within the festival site we have toilet facilities at key locations including on the pedestrian routes to and from the festival.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND CONTACTS

The voice of local residents and the community is hugely important to us, and we want to ensure that your views are heard. Throughout the event planning process we have welcomed feedback from local residents, businesses and stakeholders on previous events, and on the operational plans for this year’s event.

We understand that you may want to contact us about our plans prior to the event, during the event and following the event. We have a dedicated community email address set up and you are welcome to get in touch with us by emailing [email protected] or during the live event you can call our dedicated Residents Hotline Number 020 8191 7220, this will be active on Saturday 3rd August and Sunday 4th August from 09:30 until 00:00.

The team are committed to ensuring that Eastern Electrics takes place with minimal disruption to park users and the local community.
